WTF Clipse...

Courtesy: Bas Jan Ader

This perfectly describes my relationship with the Clipse as of this point. I'm Good and Kind of Like a Big Deal were more than disappointing, but hey, after two albums that were less than what Pusha and Malice hoped in terms of success, why not throw in some tracks that will get them radio play and fat stacks? They are on a supportive major now, and one needs to make concessions. And with that, comes the chance to work with Rick Rubin. I mean, JESUS, what could possibly go wrong with this collaboration:

Now, this:

The bass squelches like a 7 year old with his hand in his armpit in an early attempt at juvenile humor. Pusha T's and Malice's flows are flat and uninspiring. Rock City is just strange. What happened to the stark, you-will-have-to-pry-this-brick-from-my-cold-dead-hands, fuck you attitude we had grown to love? I suppose the hunger and anger that was so apparent in Hell Hath No Fury and Lord Willin' disappears as soon as one is fed and happy. It's a shame, but fame works that way I suppose.

Correction: This track will not be on Till the Casket Drops, but will be on an upcoming release from the producers The Synth. Proof why blogs suck, its one big clusterfuck to get the first word in and you end up getting it wrong.
